Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master II ref 16710 (1999) was the last of the stainless steel GMT Master IIs to sport an aluminum red and blue “Pepsi” bezel before it was discontinued and replaced with the 6-digit ceramic bezel generation. Purists who prefer the look and history of the original aluminum Pepsi bezel will find the Rolex 16710 absolutely irresistible. When it was released in the late 1980s, ref. 16710 was only the second generation GMT Master II. It replaced the ref. 16760 and brought with it a slimmer movement and case. These upgrades made ref. 16710 one of the most successful Rolex GMTs of all time, and it would go on to enjoy decades of production during which many iterations came to market. This example circa the early 2000s is a later expression of the ref. 16710, complete with Super-LumiNova and the caliber 3185.
