Pre-owned Rolex Datejust 1630 (1975) holds a special place in the Big Crown’s history. At first glance, it can easily be mistaken for an OysterQuartz watch because it sports the same integrated bracelet and angular case. However, it does not rely on a quartz movement like the rest of the OysterQuartz series. Instead, ref. 1630 is equipped with the Perpetual self-winding mechanical movement used in the rest of the standard Rolex dress watch collection. It is essentially a traditional automatic-powered Datejust with an OysterQuartz case and bracelet. It is believed that less than 1,500 of these watches were produced during the 1970s. A rare bird, indeed.
