Pre-owned Rolex Datejust ref 16013 (1986). Rolex produced the ref. 16013 for about a decade between the late 1970s and 1980. It is a notable model because it was among the first to feature the caliber 3035 with a Quickset for the date and a flat dial. At the same time, it has many inherently vintage design elements by today’s standards, such as older-style Tritium that has since aged to a nice patina on many examples out there, an acrylic crystal (instead of modern sapphire), and narrower lugs on the case. This balance between contemporary and vintage aesthetics is what makes the ref. 16013, such as highly prized collector’s items in many watch collecting circles. It also offers enthusiasts an affordable gateway to gold Rolex ownership by pairing the precious metal with durable steel.
